Together for Sustainable Forestry – GLF Welcomes Södra
This week, we at GLF had the great pleasure of welcoming Södra to our factory in Genarp. The visit was not only an honor – with the presence of Södra’s Group CEO, Business Area Manager, and Head of Industrial Sales – but also highly significant for our joint efforts within the Swedish wood industry.
We see this as a clear sign of the strong commitment and willingness to collaborate that exists between our organizations. Having a close partnership with Sweden’s sawmills is important to us at GLF, and this meeting with Södra – both Sweden’s largest forest industry group and the largest forest owners’ association in southern Sweden – marks an important part of that collaboration.
During the visit, sustainability was discussed – a core issue and an integral part of both GLF’s and Södra’s daily work.
Why cooperation matters for a responsible wood industry
At GLF, we see close dialogue with sawmills and forest-industry partners as an important part of developing a responsible and competitive wood industry. The visit to Genarp brought together perspectives from both organizations and created space to consider the role sustainability plays in everyday work. With Södra’s Group CEO, Business Area Manager and Head of Industrial Sales present, the meeting also reflected the broad commitment behind the conversation.
Strong relationships with Sweden’s sawmills are central to this work. Södra’s position as Sweden’s largest forest-industry group and the largest forest owners’ association in southern Sweden made the exchange especially relevant. The constructive discussion helped deepen mutual understanding and reinforced the shared ambition for a Swedish forestry sector that remains both responsible and competitive.
