GLF Genarp AB’s near-term science-based emissions reduction target has been reviewed and approved by SBTi Services. This is an important milestone for us and provides clear direction for our continued climate action.

    Base year for Scope 3

    2024 is the base year for measuring and reducing GLF Genarp AB’s Scope 3 emissions.

  3. 2035

    Zero emissions maintained in Scope 1 and 2

A near-term science-based target

GLF Genarp AB is classified as an SME. SBTi Services therefore used its streamlined target validation process for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The official target wording is:

GLF Genarp AB commits to maintain zero scope 1 and scope 2 emissions through 2035, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions from a 2024 base year.

What the target entails

The target covers Scope 1, 2 and 3, but the commitments differ.

Scope 1

Direct emissions

Emissions from sources owned or controlled by the company. These emissions are to remain at zero through 2035.

Scope 2

Purchased energy

Indirect emissions from purchased energy. These emissions are also to remain at zero through 2035.

Scope 3

The value chain

Other indirect emissions across the value chain. They are to be measured and reduced from a 2024 base year.

The work continues

Approval is not the end point. The practical work now continues: maintaining zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions while measuring and reducing Scope 3 emissions from a 2024 base year.
