Forest resources are the foundation of our work. We focus on material choices, reuse and quality throughout the process, with responsibility for both the environment and the people in our business.
Our responsibility
As GLF grows, so does our responsibility towards the environment, society and the people around us. We want to develop the business for the long term and use resources as efficiently as possible.
Pallets and packaging solutions need to work in our customers' everyday operations. Choosing materials for the intended use, developing designs and retaining pallets that can be used again are practical ways to manage resources.
Environmental work in practice
We manufacture nearly half a million pallets for customers in sectors including plastics, food, building materials and agricultural technology. Most of our packaging is manufactured for export. We take back and sell more pallets than we manufacture.
Raw materials and material choices are part of the design. Tell us your requirements for timber, function and documentation, and we will help you find suitable packaging.
We collect used wooden pallets, sort them and repair those that can be used again. This keeps usable pallets in circulation.
Shavings and sawdust from woodworking are sold for heat production. Wooden pallets that have reached the end of their useful life can also go to energy recovery.
We work with goals, action plans and continual improvement. Quality, the environment and occupational health and safety are part of our ongoing work.
One example of our environmental work is groundwater-based heating and cooling. Water is drawn from a depth of 45 metres and pumped to a depth of 85 metres. The same water cools the premises in summer and heats them in winter. The system does not use Freon refrigerants.
We are members of Svenskt Returträ AB, which works with producer responsibility and recycling systems for wooden packaging and other wood products.

ISPM 15 aims to reduce the risk of plant pests spreading through wooden packaging in international trade. For exports, the destination country may require wooden packaging that has been treated and marked in accordance with ISPM 15. Please specify the destination and material requirements when you contact us.
Each certificate specifies the companies and operations it covers.
PEFC is based on independent third-party certification and considers economic, environmental and social criteria for responsible forest management. Here you can find GLF Genarp's published certificate and a link to PEFC's search service.
