GLF invests for the long term with a new package cross-cut saw for Genarp
GLF (GLF Pallet Group) has ordered a new package cross-cut saw for Genarp with a stated cutting capacity of 130 m³ per 8-hour shift. The investment is part of preparations to more than double production at the Genarp site during 2027.

Ordered in 2025 ahead of production growth in 2027
At GLF, we plan for the long term. As production grows, each stage of the process needs enough capacity to keep pace. That is why we ordered the new saw back in 2025, so it would be in place ahead of the expansion in Genarp.
The system is now complete in Italy and is expected to arrive in Genarp in the coming months. Johan Wester has visited the completed system ahead of delivery. The photographs and video in this article show the machine in Italy.
The investment will increase cutting capacity and prepare production to grow with our customers’ needs.
130 m³ per shift and automated handling
The new saw has a stated cutting capacity of 130 m³ per 8-hour shift. It is almost fully automatic, bringing cutting and several handling operations together in a single flow.
- Removes spacer sticks automatically.
- Retrieves pallets automatically from a pallet stack.
- Straps the timber packages using the integrated strapping machine.
This cutting capacity applies to the new saw. The plan to more than double production during 2027 concerns the Genarp site as a whole.

Around 374 m³ over 23 operating hours
An illustrative three-shift schedule of 07:00–15:00, 15:00–23:00 and 23:00–06:00 provides a total of 23 operating hours. If the saw maintains the same average capacity throughout that time, this would give a theoretical cutting capacity of around 374 m³ per day.
The calculation is 130 ÷ 8 × 23 = 373.75 m³. This example illustrates cutting capacity under these assumptions; it is not an agreed shift schedule or a measure of actual production in Genarp.
Part of our investment in Genarp
Our current saw continues to work well. We are investing in the new system to provide the additional capacity needed for production growth. The existing saw will move to another GLF factory, where it will continue to be put to good use.
The saw is part of our long-term investment in production in Genarp. We have previously announced plans for increased warehouse capacity in Genarp.
Another part of the investment is a planned painting line integrated into the pallet production line. We will share more about this at a later date.
