When does a standard product fit—and when is a customised product useful?

A standard product is a starting point when an existing format and the published product information match what needs to be packed, stored or transported. GLF’s product pages include standard pallet formats and details for individual products. When dimensions, materials, handling or protection needs differ, a customised product may be more appropriate. Start an enquiry by describing what the product will be used for and the goods it must support or contain. Include the goods’ length, width, height and weight, together with how they will be lifted, moved, stored or packed. Explain where support is needed, what type of protection is relevant and whether you already have a pallet, lid, crate, box or packaging format in mind. If available, attach a drawing or simple dimensional sketch.

Also state the required quantity, destination and whether the need is for one project or a recurring flow. If some details are still unknown, share the information available and identify what remains to be confirmed. A clear brief makes it easier to assess whether an existing product is suitable or whether a customised product should be discussed.
